UMIDIGI X is not a flagship smartphone, it is actually a cheap phone with a budget of approximately $ 200. Still, it still has a fingerprint scanner, and UMIDIGI states that its fingerprint scanner exceeds the Galaxy Note 10.
It is well known that Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10+ have been officially launched recently, and are equipped with a fingerprint scanner with an ultrasound screen similar to the Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10 +.
On the other hand, UMIDIGI X is equipped with an optical fingerprint scanner, and the company seems to think it has an advantage over the Galaxy Note 10 product. UMIDIGI X uses the latest and best fingerprint scanner from Goodix, the same company that supplies these modules to Huawei, Xiaomi and OnePlus.
It is worth mentioning that, in theory, the ultrasonic fingerprint scanner is safer because it uses sound waves to draw 3D printed images. Optical scanners, on the other hand, rely on optical information to capture 2D photos of fingerprints.
However, both are very safe, and it seems that the optical glasses integrated in UMIDIGI X can be unlocked faster. The latest Goodix screen fingerprint scanner has an updated recognition algorithm and an optical scanning area that is 100% larger. Most importantly, it accelerates the screen by 35% and in extreme cases by 30%.
This seems to be the same as the OnePlus unit used in OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro, and when it comes with a built-in fingerprint scanner, it is not entirely secret that the two phones offer one of the best experiences. This is a great improvement over the OnePlus 6T and previous generation fingerprint scanners.
UMIDIGI announced that UMIDIGI X will begin to be purchased on AliExpress on August 26 and will be included with a true wireless headset called Upods. However, this is a limited time offer, so keep in mind that Upods will only be available for free for the first 1,000 units.
We still don’t know the exact price of the device, but the price will be around $ 200. The company is also making a great gift, recruiting 20 trial users of UMIDIGI X and Upods, and the winner will receive UMIDIGI X and Upods for free.
The UMIDIGI X is made of metal and glass with a dew notch and a “chin” under the screen. The phone has three vertically aligned cameras on the back and a 48 megapixel main camera.
The package contains a 4150 mAh battery powered by the MediaTek 64-bit Helio P60 64-core processor. It also includes a 6.35-inch AMOLED screen, but we still don’t know its resolution. However, we may be watching the Full HD + screen.
UMIDIGI has not announced the amount of RAM it plans to include in this phone, but the device will come with 128 GB of storage and we know it will contain LPDDR4X RAM. NFC will also be part of the package, and Android 9 Pie will be preinstalled on the device.
