Boxwood carving, which has a history of about 900 years, is basically a kind of circular carving. Generally speaking, a boxwood plant between the ages of 40 and 50 has a diameter of only 15 centimeters.

Boxwood carving is one of the most prominent carving styles in the south of China and has contributed to many ancient temples and buildings. It has influenced mandy unique carving styles within in China. It is regarded as a gem among the Chinese tradional arts and crafts and will be remembered as an influential craft in Chinese history.
